Collection Key

The Collection List provides information on the completeness and condition of each item. However the letters and numbers are not self explanatory so here is a key to the whole thing. The numbers relating to Visual and Technical Condition are probably different to other peoples systems. I find that you need several categories to give a good idea of the condition, though any system is subjective.

1-    = Close to Mint. Well above average but some minor signs of wear
2+   = Above average (in some peoples terminology this could still be Mint?)
2     = Average used condition. Signs of wear and tear but no bad cracks, bumps or scratches or anything which detracts markedly from the appearance
2-    = Below average. Perhaps bumps, scratches or significant light spots
3     = Some important disfiguring feature

Technical Condition

1     = In full and perfect working order
1-    = Close to perfect working order. A minor issue which does not prevent full use and enjoyment of the machine
2     = In working order but a minor function may be inoperative eg sound, non-lighting led or a key may need heavy pressure etc.
2-    = In working order and a full game of chess can be played but at least one function is faulty and this impacts to some extent on use
3+   = Faulty in important respects but still useable
3     = Faulty. Not presently useable but possibly fully mendable
3-    = Faulty. Probably not mendable.
4     = Dead. No prospect of repair.
