The Chess King Triomphe is the French version of the Chess King Master, but like all Chess Kings it was made in England. There are a number of differences between the Triomphe and the Master. Immediately you notice that the key layouts are different. The Triomphe also has a Hitachi 6301V processor running at 4MHz compared with the Master’s Z80 running at 8MHz. The Triomphe probably has a Mark Taylor program, although a reworked version of the Kaare Danielsen 4K program is another, if controversial, possibility. The Master has a version of Richard Lang’s Cyrus program.
This Triomphe was actually found in Spain. They seem to be present in few collections, and appear rarely on Ebay.
